sleep&charge with ripple control

30th Anniversary of TTVS: How it all Begun
The 30th anniversary of the "Team Ticino Vicolo Solare" (TTVS) at the Protoscar's facility in Riva San Vitale for a revival of what had been started in June 1986.
St. Moritz Energie

Eurostar project Inflatable
The Eurostars project "InflatableCar" started in January 2016. It will develop extremely lightweight components based on inflatable textiles for PHEVs and EVs. The project will end in 2018.
EM Training
EM teamed up with Protoscar to offer an e-mobilty training program dedicated to electricians, planners and architects. Thanks to Protoscar's experience in the field it covers comprehensively all the aspects related to e-mobility
espresso&charge
espresso&charge provides up to 120 kW DC + 60 kW AC and features all fast charging standards of all car manufacturers. It adjusts the output power of its plugs during parallel charging sessions to optimally meet the needs of the connected cars.
Optiresource
Optiresource is an easy and interactive tool for the visualization of the different well-to-wheel energy chains. The software allows the analysis and comparison of these energy chains and energy scenarios in terms of consumptions, greenhouse gas emissions, etc.
FutureCar
FutureCar is an innovation network organized by Fraunhofer IAO with the collaboration of Protoscar. It allows supplier companies to think in advance about how the value chain and competence structure change in the automotive industry through e-mobility.
Elektromobile Stadt
Elektromobile Stadt is an innovation network organized by Fraunhofer IAO with the collaboration of Protoscar. The aim of the Elektromobile Stadt network is to discuss and develop an action plan for the integration of e-mobility in cities and towns.
ChargeLounge
Protoscar is the contact partner in Switzerland for the deployment in Switzerland. Moreover, Protoscar realized the video animation for the communication of ChargeLounge at the Hannover Messe in 2014 and at the Kongress of the Forum Elektromobilität.
Fleet analysis tool
Protoscar developed an innovative tool that allows identifying the electrification potential of a fleet with regard to the mobility requirements, greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption and TCO.
shop&charge
Protoscar designed and developed shop&charge for the pilot project in Mendrisio: VEL-1. Since then over 200 stations have been installed and several further developments have been applied to this product. shop&charge matches the standard open source foundations OPI2020.
sleep&charge
sleep&charge has been developed to ideally charge at home. A work&charge variation is also available to charge the EV at work. This device is designed to charge every EV comfortably.
Masterplan Stuttgart
A consortium of local partners composed by Daimler, the city of Stuttgart, EnBW, car2go, e-mobil BW and the Fraunhofer Institut worked together on this project. The study analyzed the required charging infrastructure for different scenarios until 2035.
coffee&charge
EVTEC coffee&charge is easy to install on open source standard foundations, no special electric commissioning is needed, simply connectable to 32A threephase AC grid.
Fast Charger
The fast charge will allow to overcome the range anxiety; to do occasionally long journey; to realize vehicle with smaller batteries and to optimally use electric vehicle fleets.
EV Promotion Measures
Marco Piffaretti supported and consulted the introduction of the new bonus/malus system for vehicle taxation in Ticino. A CO2-emission based factor has been introduced.
Masterplan Canton Ticino
Within the project named RiParTI 2.0 the same method, developed for the city of Zurich, has been applied to calculate the required charging infrastructure to charge the coming EVs of the whole territory of the Canton Ticino in different scenarios until 2035.
iMiev Home Energy Management System
This video animation, developed by Protoscar on behalf of Mitsubishi, shows how the Home Energy Management System (HEMS) manages energy in a smarter way giving additional advantages to the user. It has been presented at Geneva Motorshow.
Protoscar LAMPO3 GT
Further developments of LAMPO3, the third of our prototypes, have been elaborated in order to preparing a possible micro series. This included designing, modeling, rendering and developing a 3D animation of LAMPO3 GT.
EVite Map
For the implementation of the extensive nationwide fast charging network in Switzerland, the placement of the areas where the charging points should be installed has been identified.
Masterplan Zurich
On behalf and with ewz, the municipal electric utility of the city of Zurich, Protoscar developed in 2011 the first Charging Infrastructure Masterplan 2020. The study shows the charging infrastructure that will be necessary to meet the needs of the electric mobility in Zurich.
Fleet's Electrification and Optimization Analysis
On behalf of FEDRO, the Federal Roads Office, Protoscar analyzed the electrification potential of the management's fleet through a detailed monitoring with GPS during 6 months.
Photovoltaic Mendrisio
Possible business cases for photovoltaic installations in the city of Mendrisio have been analyzed in this project.
Protoscar LAMPO3
LAMPO3 is a purpose designed battery powered electric demonstration sports car developed on the base of 30.000 km lessons learned with its predecessors LAMPO and LAMPO2. Protoscar together with its partners designed, engineered and realized this super sporty EV prototype.
move&charge
move&charge has been the ideal product for EVTEC to enter the DC fast charger business segment. The charger is innovative, efficient and cost effective.
EU Project HySYS
HySYS was a research and development project which is founded by European commission and coordinated by Daimler. The goal was to improve system components and subsystems for FC and hybrid vehicles.
S2G Swiss-to-Grid
The most difficult problem to be solved in relation to EV charging is how to deal with the demand peaks that will occur when thousands of car owners all start charging at the same time. S2G analyses frequency and voltage changes and adjusts household electricity usage.
Protoscar LAMPO2
LAMPO2 is the more energy efficient successor of LAMPO. This sport car is equipped with different charging modes, among them the DC fast charging where up to 100 km of additional range can be charged within just 10 minutes, by an off-board system.
Protoscar LAMPO
LAMPO is our first sports electric prototype. It is powered by two BRUSA electric motors, optimized for maximizing acceleration and regenerative braking respectively. They deliver a total output of 268 HP and a torque of over 440 Nm.
CHAdeMO Association
The principal players in the car ecosystem worked together to produce a DC quick-charging standard that they called CHAdeMO. This standard was developed jointly by the members of the CHAdeMO Association, hosted by TEPCO.
"BlueZERO"
Daimler selected Protoscar for the conception and realisation of a new, interactive, technical exhibit first shown at NAIAS 2009, at Detroit. The goal was to support technical staff explaining the latest fuel cell technologies.
CH vision 2020
The aim of this study was to analyze the prediction of the EV market penetration in Switzerland in 2020 and related consequences on the electric grid. Protoscar developed the scenario calculation, managed the research and prepared the graphic layout.
Man-machine interface
Definition and realization of control interface optimized for EVs. Among its main features an intelligent charging system and a GPS based range estimator.
GM "Hydrogen 4"
The exhibit explains the Hydrogen 4 Fuel Cell technologies. It consists of a physical model and of several animations explaining the main traffic situations behaviors.
Daimler 2030-vision
The video presents Daimler's vision about the future of personal mobility in terms of clean vehicles based on E-drive and renewable hydrogen production: the result is a clean mobility within 2030.
Two-Mode Hybrid
The exhibit explains the Two-Mode Hybrid system as it will be offered in Mercedes-Benz first full hybrid car: the ML450. It consists of a physical model and of an interactive touch screen connected to the main components and the several animations explaining the system.
"F600 HYGENIUS"
DaimlerChrysler selected Protoscar for the conception and realisation of a new, interactive, technical exhibit first shown at IAA 2007, in Frankfurt. The goal was to support technical staff explaining the latest fuel cell technologies.
eXasis
Innovative materials are applied to the uncoventional design of the Rinspeed eXasis concept car (Biogas powered). This concept car has been presented at Geneva Motorshow. Protoscar was in charge of the sketches, the 3D modeling and renderings.

Super Four
Super Four outdoor wheelchair design and functional proposals. For an endless mobility an hybrid vehicle with an electric and a silent gas-operated motors (it can travel at speeds of up to 200 km), it is also fitted with a GPS system.
Splash
The Splash concept car is not a conventional amphibious car, it skims over the water on foldable wings like a hydrofoil. In 2006 sets the new world record across the English Channel (Biogas powered) Presented at Geneva Motorshow.

R-One
Driving the R-one concept car is as exciting as riding on a bike. The tilting cockpit follows the turns and its height is electronically adjusted according to vehicle speed. (Biogas powered) Presented at Geneva Motorshow.
Pilot Project VEL-1
The municipality of Mendrisio, in southern Switzerland, hosted one of the biggest EV pilot projects: 400 EVs in an area of 20'000 inhabitants. Mendrisio won the contest among other 33 communities interested to perform the project.
HyCar
HyCar is a fully operable concept vehicle with an electric drive train powered by a battery and a fuel cell in a series-hybrid configuration. (Project supported by the Swiss governement)

Rhombus
This electric Bus is an innovative concept vehicle, called “RhomBus” which due to the clever positioning of its wheels, reduces the steering angle and permits additional seating in a limited space.
Elettra
Based on Zagato's city-EV, Logos Compositi's and Protoscar developed a high performance EV using Ni-Cd batteries, 2 AC-motors tuning the rear wheels without differential and a lightweight fiberglass structure.
Nosmog
Logos Compositi's boss Carlo Testa and Protoscar in 1987 started developing their first high-performance racing EV adopting AC-traction systems and partecipating in all main European competitions, winning several of them.
Venus
In 1986 TTVS had been sponsored by the main Swiss bank UBS and could develop an advanced solar racing car adopting "Formula-1" technology. The Venus partecipated in several competitions in whole Europe, starting with "Tour de Sol 1987".
Pegaso
In 1985 TTVS was established: the goal was to develop racing solar-cars. They had to be light, efficient, aerodynamic and solid. The whole vehicle was totally developed in 9 months, and partecipated in several competitions, starting with "Tour de Sol 1986".
